Rope Climbing

Dreams and hopes.  They are great to have.  We dream of love and success.  We hope for happiness and good health.  But, dreams do not always come true and hopes are not realized without hard work.  There is no easy street.

Usually, there are ropes to climb.  None of us are good at rope climbing unless we are in good shape – physically, mentally, and spiritually.  Fortunately, we have Christ to spot us as we climb, and if we fall, he is there to catch us.  When we return to the climb, he tells us not to fear.

One climb is to achieve a happy and successful marriage.  That can be a long and difficult climb.  It is a good thing the rope has many knots onto which we can get hand-holds.  The knots are forgiveness.  Without those knots of forgiving and asking to be forgiven, it’s a slippery descent with rope burns on the way to the bottom where our spotter will catch us to prevent a hard fall.  Nevertheless, it is still a fall we could have avoided through forgiveness.
