Hard Times

 

No, we don't need parachutes.  We need to stay in the trenches to fight hypocrisy and lies.  Our country is a wonderful place, and our greatness is reflected in how we help our neighbors at home and abroad.  

Too many of us are played as suckers.  Too many of us do not know how to deal with hard times.  Our nation's big problems can only worsen if we give up and parachute away through fear and aligning ourselves with those who would damage our country.

Those of us who get out while the getting is good are cowardly.  Jesus would have us stay in the fight and use him as our sword and shield against tyranny and oppression.  He is our wise man on the mountain (and plain).  We must listen to him and put his words into action; otherwise, we will remain distraught and whine.  Jesus lost patience with whinners.
