Ravenous Wolves

Jesus said to his disciples: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. So by their fruits you will know them." (Matthew 7:15-20)

It's time for some critical thinking and to set aside our prejudices and biases. It’s time to open our eyes and to listen even to that which makes us uncomfortable.  November and elections are only about five months away.

Who are the false prophets in sheep’s clothing but really are ravenous wolves? Who are rotten trees?  By their fruits already on display we should know them.  What would Jesus do during these divided and chaotic times with the world seemingly on a razor’s edge?

Thornbushes and thistles of hatemongers, despots, and dictators seem to be everywhere with good trees being uprooted.  Each of us must decide what should be cut down and thrown into the fire.

As told to us by the Grail Knight in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: “But choose wisely, for while the true Grail will bring you life, the false Grail will take it from you.”  Jesus tells to do the same.  The false grail – the ravenous wolf – will take our lives from us.  No exaggeration.
