Divine Justice

A person dies and goes on trial in front of God the Father.  On one side is Satan and his witnesses.  On the other side is Jesus acting as the person's character witness and next to Him is the person's advocate, the Holy Spirit (The Divine Lawyer).

The trial starts with Satan making the opening statement.  "That person belongs to me.  He belongs to me because:  He did not go to church on Sundays, his language was atrocious, he frequented palm readers, he disliked his parents because they kept reminding him to go to church.  He was always drinking and fighting in bars, he loved to gamble and stole money to cover gambling debts, and when he won, he would spend his winnings on wild parties, he would lie at every opportunity. He ate like there was no tomorrow and lastly he was envious and jealous of what his peers had that he didn't."

The Advocate got up and looked at the person, then at Jesus.  He asked, "What have you got to say, Jesus? Satan is presenting a good case, we can lose this one.  Jesus reminded the Advocate and the Judge that this person never went to sleep without saying good night, "God help me!"

Satan stood up and said, "that don't cut it, he is mine, God never helped him!"   The Advocate faces Jesus and asks,  "What do you have to say about that"  Jesus stands up and looks Satan right in the eye and says, "I died for that person, I claim him for my own."

The Advocate looks at the Judge.  The Judge looks at all those present, He pauses and says, "I sentence this person to eternal life in Heaven"

Case Closed!

The love of God is stronger than how we judge one another.  So before we go to sleep tonight we might say, "God Help me."
