The word for today is “persistence.” It’s the persistence of the Canaanite that ended up with her daughter being cured; she went back to the Lord again and again and again.
Perhaps you and I can be persistent in our prayers – in the prayers we have. Perhaps for another; in this case in Matthew’s Gospel she is praying for her daughter. Maybe also for ourselves – that we be persistent in trying to change our behavior, our actions, or our habits.
The Lord listens and answers our prayers.
