Testifying to the Lord

As we continue to read from the Farewell Discourse, we hear Jesus saying to His disciples, “The Spirit will come; the Advocate will come, to testify to the truth.  And you too, will testify.”

Testifying comes with words, or that sometimes is the case.  But, testifying through actions, would be taking example through Lydia in the first reading from Acts.  She welcomed the disciples into her home, and it was because of her hospitality that they would begin to be able to preach the message.

As we hear this in sacred readings today, perhaps we can be attentive to the testimony that we can give.  How we can be attentive to the needs of the other, and by doing that, we are testifying to the Lord.
