Coronavirus UPDATES

Dear Parishioners of Christ the King Parish,

No Public Masses – Please Participate Online: I write to remind you that in these days when prudence would dictate that we not gather in large groups, that regularly scheduled weekend Masses will be celebrated in the St. Jude Chapel, as the 8:30 AM daily Masses have been celebrated during this past week.   While Masses are not open to the public, they are available for your participation via LIVE STREAM through the parish website: https://christthekingparish.com/live-streaming/

Donate: We are fortunate that our plan to extend the availability of live streaming to the Chapel ended up being completed last Monday just in time for the greater need for this service, but at a cost of $5000.00.  Thus, we would remind you that your regular weekly donations sent by mail, dropped off to the parish office, or given online are both necessary and, as ever, always deeply appreciated. https://christthekingparish.com/giving-online/

Communion: On Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, communion will be distributed to those who wish to receive it in the Main Church.  That this service is offered may be questioned by some, but may continue only so long as it presents much less a risk to one’s health than visiting a supermarket or drug store.  Thus, all who wish to come to the church to receive communion are asked to sanitize their hands upon entering, to come forward immediately thereafter to receive, and to not linger long in the church after receiving.  At this time and at all times when the church or chapel are open, we must practice social distancing from other parishioners.  We must find ways to preserve our spiritual - as well as our physical health - in these challenging circumstances, and while secular minds may not understand, we do crave and benefit from the medicine of immortality which is the Eucharist.

Bulletins: A limited number of bulletins have been printed and are available at the entrances of the church for those who come on Sunday Afternoon between 3PM and 5PM, otherwise the bulletin is available electronically on our website: https://christthekingparish.com/bulletins/

Prayer:  The Chapel is open Monday through Friday between 10AM and 3PM for private prayer, on Fridays the Blessed Sacrament is exposed at 10AM and reposed with Benediction at 3PM.  Hand and hard surface sanitizing and social distancing practices are required by any who visit the Chapel.  The traditional Lenten devotion of Stations of the Cross are also broadcast from the St. Jude Chapel via Live Stream at 4PM each Friday afternoon.  At the request of Bishop da Cunha, the Rosary will be prayed by people across the Diocese of Fall River for all affected by this pandemic on this Sunday at 4PM; please follow along on Live Stream.  To place an intention on our parish prayer line, please complete the form here: https://christthekingparish.com/prayer-line/

Please continue to pray for all affected by this pandemic, those who have become ill, their families, and especially the medical personnel who risk their health and well being as they work on the front lines caring for all who need them.    Count on our prayers for you as we do on yours for us until we can all be together at Mass and in community here at our parish again!

God Bless!

Fr.  Healey,
and the Clergy and Staff of Christ the King Parish
