New Year 2023

The LORD said to Moses: “Speak to Aaron and his sons and tell them: This is how you shall bless the Israelites. Say to them: The LORD bless you and keep you! The LORD let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you! The LORD look upon you kindly and      give you peace! So shall they invoke my name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them.” (Numbers 6:22-27)

On this first day of the New Year let’s pray the words found in the Book of Numbers.  We pray the Lord bless us and keep us.  We pray the Lord’s face will shine upon us.  We pray the Lord will be gracious towards us.  We pray the Lord will look upon us kindly and give us peace.

We need all this in 2023 as we confront many problems and concerns related to disease and sickness, including the sickness that springs from racist behavior and divisive politics that promote anger and hate.
